I know everyone has been on the edge of their seats awaiting word on Bull’s arrival to Marion County and after talking to his Logistics Team yesterday we have a more definite picture of his arrival.  Bull in currently making his way across Orange County which is the department he retired from before starting his walk.  If you have been watching his fB page “My Brothers’ Burden Walk” you can appreciate the welcome they gave to him today and he should be in the OC for three more days.  While I do not know is plans for Lake County it could take possibly three more days.   As of now Bull is expected to come through Marion County on Hwy 441 and he should arrive next Tuesday or Wednesday.  Remember this journey began as Bull’s personal promise to his fallen friends so the timeline is fluid as Bull walks at his own pace.   A rough itinerary is in the works but we won’t be able to finalize and share it until he’s closer; but as he gets closer updates will come more frequently.

Everyone is encouraged to walk with Bull on his journey and at the request of his team, the walk with be broken up into 4 mile segments.  This will allow people to; get on and off the road at set intervals, use the restroom, refill water bottles, and change socks.  THINGS TO CONSIDER; You should come prepared to be self-sufficient on whatever stretch you walk; Bull and his team will not have water/snacks for you.  The majority of the walk will take place in the road due to lack of walking surfaces next to 441.  We are in the process of arranging an escort/traffic protection with our administration who has been very supportive of this endeavor.  It’s going to be warm out; hats, sunscreen, long sleeves are all encouraged along with flags and banners.

Bull and his Team are staying in an RV that is traveling with them.  They are looking for a host station that will have room for them to park.  They are able to cook for themselves but I really hope the host station will offer to cook them a hearty dinner and breakfast.   If you want to have you station considered please reach out to Joe Romani.

The union will need volunteers who are willing to shuttle some pop up tents and coolers over the course of the estimated three days it will take Bull to walk across our county.  You don’t have to volunteer for a whole day, just being able to make one stop out of your day may work.

Lastly, get everyone you know to sign his petition at  He needs our names to get his proposed legislation on the ballot in Tallahassee.

This walk is huge task and by the time he arrives in Ocala, Bull will have walked 461 miles on what has turned out to be a dramatic memorial walk.  Let’s help keep him energized as he moves further north towards his goal.  If you have any questions reach out to Joe Romani.
